Installation on the outdoor grounds of Monterey Peninsula College (Monterey, CA, USA). Concealed sound system installed in the ceiling of structure, playing an endless loop of Omkar (Om, Aum), as a constant continual flow of white liquid (water and airbrush ink) streams into a sink and drains back into the concealed pump reservoir at the back of structure. This work is a concentration on themes of salvation, purification, nourishment, baptism, meditation, and the personal and responsible role in context.
exhibited at Cuesta College (San Luis Obispo, CA, USA), found footage film projected onto sculpture, with soundtrack. The film was edited and compiled from 50 reels found through the Cuesta College library archive, many of which consisted of old science and mathematics educational films. The soundtrack was taken from an experimental 1980’s release by Big Butter, in which I also had a small participating production role. This work is a concentration on random nature and its relativity to perceived order, mathematics, science, existence, and the pursuit of knowledge wealth.
